Up till now, Ahsoka’s story has mainly unfolded in the animated realm in shows like Rebels and The Clone Wars. It’s a moment fans have been waiting for ever since Christensen’s involvement in the series was first teased.Īhsoka is an unusual character in that she’s among the most popular Star Wars heroes despite never having appeared in a live-action movie (we’re not really counting Ashley Eckstein’s vocal cameo in The Rise of Skywalker). We’ll get to the importance of the World Between Worlds shortly, but the biggest surprise here is that Ahsoka is greeted by none other than the spirit of her old master, Anakin. The final scene shows that Ahsoka isn’t quite dead, but she’s close enough that her consciousness has returned to a place with special significance for Rebels fans - the World Between Worlds. Just singles.Things aren’t exactly going Ahsoka’s way by the end of “Fallen Jedi.” This episode ends with Sabine caving to Baylan Skoll’s malign influence and Ahsoka herself being knocked off a cliff. We put out some singles, we've got The Beatles, The Who, and now we got Britney, so that's how it's going to be. I don't think there will be an album of Tenacious D covers. We said yes, and we rocked it as hard as we could. My manager suggested that we do some of her stuff, and Mike said, 'Can you do "Hit Me Baby One More Time?" That goes perfectly with the theme of the movie. He concluded, "I'm just such a fan of that Britney track as a jam. There were a lot of bands that did not want to give us permission because they felt like we were making fun of them. ![]() If you do covers and take liberties with the lyrics, it's not technically a parody it's a minefield, and you want to get permission from all the artists. Over the pandemic times, we did a whole album's worth of covers, and we ran into so much red tape. Would Black and his Tenacious D partner Kyle Gass consider an album of covers or a live show of "bangers" somewhere like the iconic Hollywood Bowl? When we saw the finished film, we didn't know if they'd use the full version or whether the song would be in it at all, but they did use the full version." "We did a shorter version for a music video that we shot at the premiere. We won't be offended if you don't, but we were proud of it.' Then Hans Zimmer did the Zimmerisation," Black explained. "We did the whole version, handed it to them, and said, 'Use it if you want. ![]() "It's a banger and a classic in its own right, and you sanctified it." ![]() Kung Fu Panda 4 also cleverly uses new versions of classic music tracks as part of the soundtrack, including Black Sabbath's "Crazy Train" and Tenacious D's version of Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time" with twists courtesy of composer Hans Zimmer. It was early days I would have done anything, even a walk-on. I asked, 'What part are you here for?' so he told me the role he was going for, then he asked me, and I said, 'I'm here for General Meeting?' I thought it was a character who was a General in the war but I was just here to meet the directors as a general meeting. I don't even want to tell this story it's so dumb, but I got to the audition place, and there was another actor there that I knew. It was a Civil War drama on TNT or something. It is one of the dumbest things I went to an audition for. "I lied about getting on a horse but didn't get the role, so we never had to cross that bridge. "How hard could it be, right?" Black laughed. Have either of the leads ever embellished their resumes to secure a role they wanted, like maybe saying they could ride a horse? Kung Fu Panda 4 sees Black's Po in line to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, which involves him searching for his successor as the new Dragon Warrior. "I was overjoyed when she was cast, but I had no hand in it," Black explained.
